13 Movies With Fewer Oscars Than Suicide Squad

Suicide Squad is an Oscar-winning movie as of last night (at the time of writing this); the DC Extended Universe villain team-up film took home the Academy Award for Best Hair and Makeup, earning the DCEU its first Oscar, while the Marvel Cinematic Universe still has none (chew on that for a second… yikes).

It’s not just the Marvel comparison that’s mind-blowing to think about; by winning an Oscar, Suicide Squad has actually surpassed more movies than you might care to count. Marvel’s superhero team-up film was an epic, game-changing event that cracked the $1 billion ceiling for blockbuster movies. And yet, it couldn’t even snag an Oscar for its impressive technical achievements. Suicide Squad did, tho…

Yeah… That’s right. Suicide Squad has an Oscar, but Richard Donner’s groundbreaking godfather of all superhero movies opted instead to just change millions of viewers’ lives. That’s all. No Oscar wins for its 3 nominations, though.
